As a recent iPhone convert, I can’t help but feel like I’m a little behind the times when it comes to understanding the plethora of apps that are turning this must-have device into America’s must-have camera! Annie Leibovitz recently told Brian Williams that the iPhone is her new favorite camera recommendation whenever she is asked that all encompassing question, “which digital camera is right for me?” She just might be onto something!

I must have had Instagram on my mind when I was finishing the edits for this recent engagement session. Jeremie and Ginni had the fab idea of doing part of their session at Mo-Java, as it was a part of their love story. The vintage clothing and coffee house backdrop were tempting me to play around with some vintage filters and I couldn’t be happier with the result. Congrats to you both, we’re looking forward to March!

New Year’s Eve will be the gorgeous backdrop for the upcoming wedding of Nate and Rachel! They spent the majority of their engagement separated as Nate was serving overseas, and now that Nate is home, it’s time to crank the wedding plans into high gear. Thanks to our fabulous November weather weekend, we were able to squeeze their session in with little time to spare. Congrats to you both, and we will see you in just a few weeks!

Well, I came home from work one night and she was at my apartment hanging out with my roommates. We started talking and she never left the apartment after that.

Photographers are known for seeing a view of the world through our lens that is not often seen by the average eye. Combine that with an afternoon spent seeing the world through the eye of a child and it can be an incredible combination! Working with siblings and families can be such a joyous time, but I have to admit that I love when I have the chance to spend some one-on-one time with a kiddo and my camera. Emily turned the tables on me almost immediately, directing our session from beginning to end. I could occasionally convince her to stop and pose, but she was really the one in charge! We spent our time running through the fields, picking a bouquet of wildflowers for mom and learning how to hold the shell of a cicada gently, so it wouldn’t blow away. Of course, I was the one learning:) Thanks for a great afternoon, Emily… and for reminding me to play every now and again.

Norfolk, Nebraska was the near perfect backdrop for our recent senior session with Sophie. It was important for Sophie and her family to capture her stills where she spends most of her time, and that we did! There were so many incredible scenic backgrounds that it seems hard to believe that I didn’t walk more than fifty yards in either direction the entire shoot! Lori, Sophie & Rachel, thank you SO much for your hospitality and for making the afternoon one my daughter will remember for a long time. Enjoy!
